Research indicates this relates to an Avro Anson crash on Kinder Scout involving Polish crew from a flying exercise on 11 December 1944. Flt Lt Aleksander Chelstowski took off from RAF Newton near Nottingham but became lost in low cloud. He descended below the cloud but struck the snow-covered moor. All crew survived the crash.
