What Happened
At 0245 on 30 January 1943, Wellington R1538 of 28 Operational Training Unit, RAF Wymeswold, crashed at Cellarhead in Staffordshire. Sergeant T. Butterley (service number 1336746), Observer, and Sergeant A. Priest (service number 1312544), Bomb Aimer, were both killed at the crash site.
