Squadron History

No. 300 (Masovia) Squadron was one of the Polish Air Force bomber squadrons formed in the United Kingdom after the fall of Poland in 1940. The squadron flew Wellington and Lancaster bombers throughout the war, accumulating 3,891 sorties. Its final base was RAF Faldingworth, Lincolnshire, where a composite memorial dedicated on 8 May 2004 features three stone columns representing the towers of Lincoln Cathedral, with runway rubble and Lancaster aircraft parts embedded in the base. The Polish Bomber Squadrons Centre at Fillingham, Lincolnshire, opened in April 2024, honours 300 Squadron alongside 305 and 199 Squadrons, with 166 names recorded on the centre stone.
