This Monument Is Erected in Memory of Sgt R.m. Buie RCAF F Sgt A.w. Kimmerley RCAF P O L.k. Taylor RCAF P O R.w. Thompson Crew of a Wellington Bomber of 424(TIGER) Squadron RCAF Who Were Killed on 11th April 1943 When Their Plane Suffered Engine Failure on a Bombing Mission to Frankfurt Crashing on Hexden Marshes South of This Place. Also Remembering Sgt A.g. Lees RCAF the Sole Survivor Who Tried in Vain to Rescue His Comrades This Monument Was Unveiled on the 6OTH Anniversary by the Grateful Peoples of Canada and Rolvenden and Paid for by Public Subscription to the Memory of Art Lees Who Attended the Unveiling of This Monument in the Presence of Many Assembled and Who Died Peacefully at Home in British Columbia on 17th November 2004 Aged 84
