Heritage record for the crash site of Lancaster PB422 in the River Bain between Tattershall and Coningsby. The aircraft's port outer engine caught fire during takeoff for a bombing exercise, causing it to stall and crash into trees.
Monument reference MLI125800. Crash occurred on 13 July 1945, two months after VE Day. Four crew killed: Flt Lt R.W. Wright, F/Sgt A.J. Molyneux, Fg Off J.L. Bendix, F/Sgt J. Eastwood.
