On March 1st 1945 a Wellington aircraft from 24 OTU, RAF Honeybourne, crashed in this village and the entire Canadian crew of five were killed This plaque and the Maple tree nearby is dedicated to their memory They were: [crew names listed on memorial] They gave their lives for us
